Car Hauling Made Easy
This is an 18 foot H&H Speedloader MX tiltbed trailer. When it comes to manual tiltbed trailers you won’t find one on the market that is easier, safer or more reliable to use than our SpeedLoader MX series tiltbed trailer! In this feature you will see just how easy it is to tilt the trailer so you can load a vehicle on it and then lower it back down for towning! For stability reasons you never want to load a vehicle on a flatbed trailer unless it is securely attached to a tow vehicle. This photo shows our optional 2 5/16” bulldog coupler, safety chains, optional breakaway kit and battery (required for all suspension 10,000 GVWR and above), light hookup and our standard 7,000lb set back jack. A set back jack comes standard on our MX and EX models. A set back jack allows you to fully open your tailgate without having to unhitch your trailer. Once you have your tow vehicle properly hooked up to the trailer make sure you are parked on a firm level surface and that the parking brake is set. The next step is to unlatch the tongue locks on both sides of the SpeedLoader MX’s tongue. To do this you simply lift the handle up, slide the locking bolt back and lower the handle down behind the catch that is welded onto the tongue. Once you do this to both sides of your tiltbed trailer you will be ready to start jacking it up. Step three is to remove the handle from the holder that is located just behind the jack on the tongue. You will then take the handle and using the slotted end you will need to make sure the pressure release on the lift is closed by turning the handle clockwise until you feel pressure. Step four you will insert the handle into the pump and move the handle in a back and forth motion to operate the lift. We use double action hydraulic pumps on our SpeedLoader MX tilt bed trailers. This means that every time you move the handle up or down the tilt of the trailer's bed is going to be increased! Most other tilt bed trailers use a single action pump which means that you have to do twice as much work to tilt the trailer's bed. Here is what a SpeedLoader MX tiltbed trailer looks like before you raise it up. By moving the handle back and forth you will tilt the trailer’s bed up until the tail of the trailer rests against the ground. This is what a MX tiltbed trailer looks like after it has been raised up. Remember though…In order to safely load a tiltbed trailer you need to have it securely attached to the vehicle that you will be towing it with and the jack raised. If you take a quick glance under an H&H flatbed trailer you will see that every flatbed trailer that we produce (except for Hi-Deck© series flatbed trailers) will be sent to the undercoating department. There the entire trailer is lifted up and the underside steel is sprayed with a thick layer of automotive undercoating. It’s another free item that we throw in the mix and it gives you a measure of security against excessive rust in the future. The insides of both fenders will receive this coating as well all STANDARD! Walking around to the rear of the SpeedLoader MX tiltbed trailer you can see just how accommodating this flatbed trailer really is. The next step is to drive your car onto the trailer. An 18 foot tiltbed trailer will accommodate most low riding cars. For other, more exotic cars, or cars with excessive front overhang (the amount of space between the front bumper and the front tires) we recommend our longer models like the 20, 22 or 24 foot lengths. When you drive your car onto an H&H tiltbed or flatbed trailer make sure that it is centered on the bed from side to side. There is nothing worse than bumping a trailer fender with your car. If that ever happens to you, don’t worry, we sell touch up paint for your trailer!
Once you car is loaded on the trailer you will be ready for step six, which is to get out of your car and lower the trailer. All H&H SpeedLoader MX and EX trailers have a low standard 8.5 inch fender height so you won’t have to worry about hitting your doors on them. Always remember to load your car with the weight bias toward the front of the trailer. Don’t worry, our SpeedLoader MX trailers can handle the weight. Step six continued: Take your handle and slowly turn the pressure release counter clockwise to allow the hydraulic lift cylinder to collapse. You can let it down fast, you can let it down slow, just regulate this valve like a water faucet to regulate the rate of descent. Step seven: After the deck is down, you just need to secure the car to the trailer with the proper tie downs. The stake pockets pictured here work great for that. We can install D-rings or even E-Tracks for those customers who want them, but our stake pockets are as strong, if not stronger and they come with the trailer free of charge. You will then relatch the tongue latches and go. There you have it, seven simple steps to load or unload a car with your new SpeedLoader MX tiltbed trailer. It really is as easy as it looks!
Stop by and see one of these amazing flatbed trailers in action. Most people that try one are so impressed that they drive away with one the same day! Coming back later to pick up your MX tiltbed trailer is okay too.
